Maya Angelou 1928-2014

"“I never agreed with Thomas Wolfe,” she remarked quietly. “I never thought you can’t go home again. I’ve been coming home to Harlem for 50 years.”

-- from a terrific story in the New York Times from 2007 about her ornately colorful Harlem apartment

  1. -She was a hero of mine. She spoke of things that people hide. She was an elder wise woman for us to all love, and her words will carry on for our children to learn from. May she reign with the saints in blissful love and glorious peace. Good night for now sweet, and beautiful mother.
